Frankfurt Handpan Day

After the first successful edition, we are glad to invite you to the second Frankfurt Handpan Day!

This event will feature Handpan workshops for beginners and intermediate and concerts/performances from Edoardo Striani - Handpan player. You will also be able to test and play different kind of Handpans and RAV (some of them ready to purchase), meet other Handpan enthusiasts and players, and simply relax and have a good time.

In short, this is the perfect place if you love handpans or if you're curious about them and would like to learn more!

SATURDAY 30.03.19, DOORS OPEN 9:30 – 22:00

10:00 - 12:00: WORKSHOP BEGINNERS 

• This workshop is an introduction to the world of handpans, and is addressed to people who are interested in handpans and would like to try them or to real beginners.
• Edoardo will teach the basic theory of the handpans but most relevance will be given to practicing, with simple exercises aimed at learning the basics. Instruments to practice during the workshop will be provided.

14:00 - 16:00: WORKSHOP BEGINNER PLUS

• This workshops is addressed to people that already know how to play the handpan and want to improve their level.
• Edoardo will teach you a few patterns and grooves as long as basic exercises that will enrich your playing style and technique.

16:00 - 19:00: JAM & CHILL - Enjoy your time at the location and have fun in ... 

• jam with other players
• get answers to your important questions 
• meet the Artist, Dealer or Maker 
• practice what you've learned in the Workshops 
• or even relax and chill among people sharing the same passion

19:00 - 21: 00: SHOW - MUSIC FROM THE STARS

• Music from the Stars is a performance of music and astrophysics.
• The suggestive handpan music will merge with the amazing images from the universe in a show that is between concert, entertainment and science communication. Edoardo merges his two passions, handpans and stars, in an emotional experience that provides feelings of wonder and connection.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Edoardo started playing percussions in 2010 and handpans in 2012.

He teaches handpan in Torino and Milano (Italy) and creates online video tutorial for handpans and RAV Vast. He played in several handpan festivals in Italy and the Griasdi Handpan Festival 2018 in Austria.

He worked in the field of high energy astrophysicist and is author and co-author of more than 50 scientific publications. In 2012 he was awarded with the Bruno Rossi prize from the American Astronomical Society.
